Sitting up in the stands, we received many comments that Kamiak was 2nd best (to their own band, of course). They loved your show. You certainly made us proud.
Way to Go, Knights!
Victoria in May
I know this is still far away, but wanted to send out a reminder that passports and/or enhanced driver's licenses (with certified birth certificates) are required to travel to and from Canada. If your student doesn't have one yet, now would be a great time to start the process. Depending upon the time of year you apply and where you go, it can take a bit of time to get the passport back.
Winterline
I wanted to make one correction – there will actually be 3 competitions during the Winterline season. Auditions start Tuesday, November 17th at 5:30pm.

Kamiak show band and Color Guard 2009 Season Recap
Greetings all Show Bandlings and Parentlings!
I just wanted to thank everyone for a fabulous season and especially to all who did so much to make our season a success! We had such tremendous improvement this year and I am truly excited to continue this momentum through this winter season and onto next fall. To wrap up our accomplishments: The Show Band took 2nd place at Hillsboro part 1, 1st place at Tumwater, 2nd place at Everett, and 5th place at Hillsboro part 2. These are all higher placings than last year, so our band is continuing their journey towards excellence and is truly one of the elite in the Northwest. The Show Band and Colorguard gave amazing performances this past weekend in both prelims and finals. Don't be fooled by our drop in score or placement at Hillsboro. This was definitely our toughest competition this year, going up against the Northwest's finest marching bands. Last year we finished 7th overall at our final Oregon competition, and our goal was to return and make top five. No one should be disappointed in this, as we met our goal and the kids need to be congratulated for this amazing feat!! Now more than ever, I feel truly honored to service Kamiak as the band director. I am proud of these kids and their accomplishments and I cannot wait for next year.
Musically yours,
Toby Bathurst

Hillsboro II -Halloween Edition 2009
We saw great performances by the participating show bands (one of them doesn't count)and a special appearance from our heroes " The penguins of Mukilteo" who arrived out of nowhere (under the ramp) and disappeared just as mysteriously " YOU NEVER SAW US - WE WEREN'T HERE" (back into roadie gear).
Then all of sudden, it was all over. Back home to unload followed by the empty feeling that accompanies the thought " what do I do now with my time?"
Don't fret, you will find other things to fill in the time but you can also look back on your achievements this year and be proud. You are the best !!
